After working hard to earn 5-star reviews and make so many customers happy, I was shocked to learn that Etsy decided to close my account permanently 😢. It’s definitely a sad moment, because I know how helpful it is to have time-saving hacks in life — we all get busy, and sometimes we don’t want to do everything ourselves. EMBARRASSING STORY

So picture this… I’m at a festival, everything’s running smoothly, and at the end of the day I lock up my Craft-n-Go, grab the key, and head home. 🚗🔑

That same evening, my husband and I buy a new-to-us car (super exciting, right?). Fast forward to the next morning: I drive the new car back to the event, feeling all proud… until I arrive and realize the key for my face painting kit is still on my old keychain. 😱 Major panic.

But here’s where the miracle happened. I had a second painter scheduled to join me later that day. I called her and asked if she could swing by to grab the key for me before heading over. And she goes, ‘Oh! I actually left my own kit under the table yesterday — you can use mine until I get there!’

Talk about relief! 😅 I honestly thought she had packed hers up, but nope — it was sitting there waiting for me. I used her kit until she arrived, then we swapped back again.

🎨 Things I Don’t Do (Even If You Ask Nicely 😂)

1. I don’t do custom designs.
Your idea is probably amazing… but unless it’s on my board, it’s a no from me. My goal is to keep the line moving as fast as possible and that can only be done with tried and true designs.

2. I don’t hold your spot while you “think about it.” Usually someone had to wait in line for a while before their turn. This is a great time to make your selection. Let’s keep the line moving in the meantime and let me know when you’re fully ready for your turn.

3. I don’t paint crying kids.
If they’re screaming, sweating, or hiding under a table — it’s a no paint zone. I want the painting to be a fun experience. If they aren’t having fun it’s better to not paint them.

4. I don’t paint over popcorn butter and mystery face goo.
Wipe, dry, then fly. My paint and your snack aren’t meant to mingle.

5. I don’t let little hands touch my paints or brushes.
I know it’s tempting — they’re colorful and magical-looking! ✨ But to keep everything clean and safe for everyone, only the artist touches the supplies. Germs + shared paint = nope.🧼💖

6. I don’t play referee between parents and kids.
“Butterfly or Batman” is a family conversation. I’ll wait… and if you take too long, I’ll move on to the next kid while you guys fight it out. 🎤

7. I don’t take your payment. 90% of the time I have an assistant with me to allow me to focus on just painting rather than switching constantly from payments to painting. It helps make the process more smooth. My assistant also does glitter tattoos so it pays for itself.

As you can understand most of these are either time related or based on hygienic reasons. Unfortunately we pay to be at an event and we only get paid during our active painting time - I try to work as efficient as possible to keep customers happy and make the best use of my time at an event.

What is a no go for you at your booth - even non face painting booths !!

You might notice I post more girl designs than boy ones—there are two reasons for that:
1️⃣ I usually get more girl customers
2️⃣ I don’t always love the boy designs I do 🤣

But today I made an attempt at a dragon design to give the boys another fun option to choose from! 🐉🔥
